Pacquiao - Cotto fight. FIXED? Rigged in advatage of Cotto? Bob Arum's deal?

This is my opinion and my opinion alone. And observation during, before and after the fight. It doesn't matter if you believe me or not. I just felt like I have to say something.

I believe that the fight was FIXED. But unlike other postings and other blogs that I saw. I believe the fight was fixed in favor of Miguel Cotto. Don't get me wrong. IT WASN'T FIX SO THAT PACQUIAO WILL WIN. But for Cotto to save face and his career. WHY? I'LL TELL YOU.

Miguel Cotto was one of the best in the business. I will give him that. No doubt about it. He's a good fighter with a very powerful punch. I'm a fan of boxing. And I pretty much watch the best boxers in the world. Not just Pacquiao. I watched Cotto's last few fights. And from what I saw. And like I always tells everyone. I'll say the same thing I said about the Pacquiao-Dela Hoya fight. Oscar Dela Hoya doesn't have a chance. And I know Cotto doesn't stand a chance with Pacquiao as well. And I'm not saying this because I'm Filipino and that I'm a big fan of Pacquiao. But I'm saying it because it's the truth. Don't get me wrong. I'm a big fan of Dela Hoya as well. And I grew up watching him. But Pacquiao retired him. And just like the Dela Hoya - Pacquiao fight. Pacquiao was letting up. He's preying Dela Hoya but every time Oscar is about to hit the canvas. Pacquiao will back up. You all saw that. No denying it. But I believe the reason why. Is because they are good friends and Oscar is a big part of Manny's success. However, this is not the same case with Cotto. WHY? because they are not friends.

Ok. This is the reason why I think it was fixed. Bob Arum doesn't want Pacquiao to fight Mayweather. Not just yet at least. WHY? "MONEY" Their are other good opponents for Pacquiao as well. But all the fans in the world is waiting for Pacquiao - Mayweather. Noting else. But then again. He decided to go with Cotto. When we all know that he doesn't stand a chance with Pacquiao. At least that's my opinion. But Bob Arum went with Cotto because he knows he'll make more money if he kept Pacquiao fighting. Because let's face it. If Pacquiao retires Mayweather. Who else is their to fight? And that's the reason why Arum doesn't want Pacquiao to fight Mayweather just yet.

Bob Arum is the promoter from Top Rank. Pacquiao and Cotto are both from Top Rank. And let's face it. Both Pacquiao and Cotto are Arum's "MONEY MAKER" or "PRICE FIGHTERS" fighter. As you all know. Boxing promoters gets a huge cut from every single fight his fighters had. And of course. If Pacquiao retires Cotto which should have happen. Then Arum will lose one of Top Ranks price fighter (Cotto). And you know damn well he will not let that happen. And let's face it. When Pacquiao retires Mayweather. Which mostly likely will happen. THERE IS NO ONE ELSE! unless he went up another rank. Which Pacquiao doesn't want to. And Roach doesn't want Pacquiao to do so as well.

If you follow Pacquiao's fight for a long time. You know how he fight. I've been watching Pacquiao fight since 1998. The first time I saw him fight was in the Philippines. I was on vacation at the time. And my uncles are watching the fight. I can't remember who he fought at the time. But he wasn't famous at the time yet. And ever since. He prey on his oponent. He still do. Only this time. He have gotten smarter. More precise, a lot stronger, more faster, more focus and of course. More powerful than ever. Specially with the new development of his right arm.

Now, this is the Pacquiao that I know. Every time he prey on his opponent. And once he got the opportunity. He just kept on following through with his punches until he made that last punch that will bring his opponent down. We all saw it from Barrera up to Hatton's fight with Manny. Like I said. He always prey on his opponent until. He just keep on punching until he land his knock out punch. And he's been doing this every since. You guys saw that from Pacquiao - Hatton's fight as well..

But that was not the case this time. Cotto got the first round. And that's cool. But I realized that Pacquiao is letting up after the second round. WHY? because Pacquiao was letting Cotto punch him. Then every time he got Cotto cornered and is about go hit the canvas. He will not follow thrrough with his punches. Which you all know he always do. The last Pacquiao fight that I saw him not following through with his punches was with Dela Hoya. But with Dela Hoya's fight. You could really tell doesn't wanna knock Oscar out because he was backing up every time Oscar is about to go down. But this time. He was just not following through on his punches.

Cotto went on his knees twice. And you all know that's already a sign of weakness . And when was the last time you all saw Pacquiao's opponent went down on his knees once or twice and still made it up to the last round? Better yet. NOT KNOCK HIS OPPONENT OUT? That fight would have been over before the 7th round or less. And you all know it.

Freddie Roach predicted that it's going end at 9th round in favor of Pacquiao. And honestly, since when is Roach wrong about the round he predicted? And it was unusual that he said 9 rounds. WHY? Because he usually say smaller numbers. Then here comes 10th round. All of a sudden. Pacquiao's fight is starting to go back to normal. He was fighting the same way he was fighting before. The only problem is. Cotto kept on running. Cotto it doing hit and run.

Miguel Cotto got a cut. I can't remember what round he started bleeding though. But anyways, he just kept on bleeding and his face was really getting f*cked up. And if you really follow boxing. A doctor would have check him out already. But know one did. It doesn't mean that the doctor will stop the fight. But at least. He/she will check the fight out if he is still able to fight. Then Cotto's father wanted to stop the fight. But he was persuade from stopping the fight (so they say).

Then here comes the last round. Cotto was still running away. Then all of a sudden. Everybody is talking about the referee trying to stop the fight. WHY? WHY NOW? Pacquiao landed more than half of Power Punches than Cotto on every single round. He got cornered Cotto on several occasion. The fight should have been stopped a few rounds earlier. And if you watch the last fight again. You will see that Pacquiao's last three punches didn't even landed except for one. The first punch landed on Cotto's arm. The second one was on Cotto's face. Which is not even a power punch. Then surprise, surprise.. The referee stopped the fight. That's why the third punch didn't even laded. DON'T BELIEVE ME? watch the 12 round again below.

For the longest time. I watch great fighters and amateur boxers on the ring. And I never saw the referee sopt the fight after one hit. And without the fighter being preyed and cornered. And of course, the fighter not being able to throw a punch or be able to fight anymore. Cotto was still running strong when he stopped the fight.

Cotto would have been knocked out or the fight would have been stopped earlier than that. And you all know it. Plus who in the right mind will bring their kid on your fight? Unless you know that your kid would not see you hit the canvas.

Then after that fight. When Manny was doing the interview. He said that he will leave every decision to Bob Arum. His Promoter.

My hypothesis:

Bob Arum made a deal with Pacquiao that he could only knock Cotto out after the 9th or 10th round.
WHY?
Because if Miguel Cotto get knocked out in less than 5 rounds. That's the end of his career.
WHY YOU ASK? Because who else would fight him? No one will think that he is no longer a worthy opponent. He'll lose fan base. And of course. That's millions of dollars lost on Bob Arum's pocket.

Second:
They are shooting for a Pacquiao - Cotto trilogy. Which means if theirs a second fight. Pacquiao will throw the fight. Which is what I'm a afraid off. Or their will just be a rematch and Pacquiao will win again. And most likely, it's going to be decision as well or another TKO. WHY? Do I really have to tell you? It's more money on Bob Arum's pocket!!! He just can't let Cotto retire.

The way I see it. It's all about Cotto saving face and Bob Arum's fat ass wallet.
Because even if theirs no longer a rematch of the fight. And Pacquiao will go to his next opponent. In my opinion. They still FIXED the fight in favor of Cotto. Because like I said. Cotto's fight are money on Bob Arum's pocket.

The World Has Lost a Remarkable Innovator and Musician: Les Paul Passes Away at 94

New York, NY...August 13, 2009...Les Paul, acclaimed guitar player, entertainer and inventor, passed away today from complications of severe pneumonia at White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York, surrounded by family and loved ones. He had been receiving the best available treatment through this final battle and in keeping with his persona, he showed incredible strength, tenacity and courage. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the thoughts and prayers from his dear friends and fans. Les Paul was 94.

One of the foremost influences on 20th century sound and responsible for the world's most famous guitar, the Les Paul model, Les Paul's prestigious career in music and invention spans from the 1930s to the present. Though he's indisputably one of America's most popular, influential, and accomplished electric guitarists, Les Paul is best known as an early innovator in the development of the solid body guitar. His groundbreaking design would become the template for Gibson's best-selling electric, the Les Paul model, introduced in 1952. Today, countless musical legends still consider Paul's iconic guitar unmatched in sound and prowess. Among Paul's most enduring contributions are those in the technological realm, including ingenious developments in multi-track recording, guitar effects, and the mechanics of sound in general.

Born Lester William Polsfuss in Waukesha, Wisconsin on June 9, 1915, Les Paul was already performing publicly as a honky-tonk guitarist by the age of 13. So clear was his calling that Paul dropped out of high school at 17 to play in Sunny Joe Wolverton's Radio Band in St. Louis. As Paul's mentor, Wolverton was the one to christen him with the stage name “Rhubarb Red," a moniker that would follow him to Chicago in 1934. There, Paul became a bona fide radio star, known as both hillbilly picker Rhubarb Red and Django Reinhardt-informed jazz guitarist Les Paul. His first recordings were done in 1936 on an acoustic—alone as Rhubarb Red, as well as backing blues singer Georgia White. The next year he formed his first trio, but by 1938 he'd moved to New York to begin his tenure on national radio with one of the more popular dance orchestras in the country, Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians.

Tinkering with electronics and guitar amplification since his youth, Les Paul began constructing his own electric guitar in the late '30s. Unhappy with the first generation of commercially available hollowbodies because of their thin tone, lack of sustain, and feedback problems, Paul opted to build an entirely new structure. “I was interested in proving that a vibration-free top was the way to go," he has said. “I even built a guitar out of a railroad rail to prove it. What I wanted was to amplify pure string vibration, without the resonance of the wood getting involved in the sound." With the good graces of Epiphone president Epi Stathopoulo, Paul used the Epiphone plant and machinery in 1941 to bring his vision to fruition. He affectionately dubbed the guitar “The Log."

Les Paul's tireless experiments sometimes proved to be dangerous, and he nearly electrocuted himself in 1940 during a session in the cellar of his Queens apartment. During the next two years of rehabilitation, Les earned his living producing radio music. Forced to put the Pennsylvanians and the rest of his career on hold, Les Paul moved to Hollywood. During World War II, he was drafted into the Army but permitted to stay in California, where he became a regular player for Armed Forces Radio Service. By 1943 he had assembled a trio that regularly performed live, on the radio, and on V-Discs. In 1944 he entered the jazz spotlight—thanks to his dazzling work filling in for Oscar Moore alongside Nat King Cole, Illinois Jacquet, and other superstars —at the first of the prestigious Jazz at the Philharmonic concerts.

By his mid-thirties, Paul had successfully combined Reinhardt-inspired jazz playing and the western swing and twang of his Rhubarb Red persona into one distinctive, electrifying style. In the Les Paul Trio he translated the dizzying runs and unusual harmonies found on Jazz at the Philharmonic into a slower, subtler, more commercial approach. His novelty instrumentals were tighter, brasher, and punctuated with effects. Overall, the trademark Les Paul sound was razor-sharp, clean-shaven, and divinely smooth.

As small combos eclipsed big bands toward the end of World War II, Les Paul Trio's popularity grew. They cut records for Decca both alone and behind the likes of Helen Forrest, the Andrews Sisters, the Delta Rhythm Boys, Dick Hayes, and, most notably, Bing Crosby. Since 1945, when the crooner brought them into the studio to back him on a few numbers, the Trio had become regular guests on Crosby's hit radio show. The highlight of the session was Paul's first No. 1 hit and million-seller, the gorgeous “It's Been a Long, Long Time."

Meanwhile, Paul began to experiment with dubbing live tracks over recorded tracks, also altering the playback speed. This resulted in “Lover (When You're Near Me)," his revolutionary 1947 predecessor to multi-track recording. The hit instrumental featured Les Paul on eight different electric guitar parts, all playing together.

In 1948, Paul nearly lost his life to a devastating car crash that shattered his right arm and elbow. Still, he convinced doctors to set his broken arm in the guitar-picking and cradling position. Laid up but undaunted, Paul acquired a first generation Ampex tape recorder from Crosby in 1949, and began his most important multi-tracking adventure, adding a fourth head to the recorder to create sound-on-sound recordings. While tinkering with the machine and its many possibilities, he also came up with tape delay. These tricks, along with another recent Les Paul innovation—close mic-ing vocals—were integrated for the first time on a single recording: the 1950 No. 1 tour de force “How High the Moon."

This historic track was performed during a duo with future wife Mary Ford. The couple's prolific string of hits for Capitol Records not only included some of the most popular recordings of the early 1950s, but also wrote the book on contemporary studio production. The dense but crystal clear harmonic layering of guitars and vocals, along with Ford's close mic-ed voice and Paul's guitar effects, produced distinctively contemporary recordings with unprecedented sonic qualities. Through hits, tours, and popular radio shows, Paul and Ford kept one foot in the technological vanguard and the other in the cultural mainstream.

All the while, Les Paul continued to pine for the perfect guitar. Though The Log came close, it wasn't quite what he was after. In the early 1950s, Gibson Guitar would cultivate a partnership with Paul that would lead to the creation of the guitar he'd seen only in his dreams. In 1948, Gibson elected to design its first solidbody, and Paul, a self-described “dyed-in-the-wool Gibson man," seemed the right man for the job. Gibson avidly courted the guitar legend, even driving deep into the Pennsylvania mountains to deliver the first model to newlyweds Les Paul and Mary Ford.

“Les played it, and his eyes lighted up," then-Gibson President Ted McCarty has recalled. The year was 1950, and Paul had just signed on as the namesake of Gibson's first electric solidbody, with exclusive design privileges. Working closely with Paul, Gibson forged a relationship that would change popular culture forever. The Gibson Les Paul model—the most powerful and respected electric guitar in history—began with the 1952 release of the Les Paul Goldtop. After introducing the original Les Paul Goldtop in 1952, Gibson issued the Black Beauty, the mahogany-topped Les Paul Custom, in 1954. The Les Paul Junior (1954) and Special (1955) were also introduced before the canonical Les Paul Standard hit the market in 1958. With revolutionary humbucker pickups, this sunburst classic has remained unchanged for the half-century since it hit the market.

“The world has lost a truly innovative and exceptional human being today. I cannot imagine life without Les Paul. He would walk into a room and put a smile on anyone's face. His musical charm was extraordinary and his techniques unmatched anywhere in the world," said Henry Juszkiewicz, Chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar. “We will dedicate ourselves to preserving Les' legacy to insure that it lives on forever. He touched so many lives throughout his remarkable life and his influence extends around the globe and across every boundary. I have lost a dear, personal friend and mentor, a man who has changed so many of our lives for the better."

“I don't think any words can describe the man we know as Les Paul adequately. The English language does not contain words that can pay enough homage to someone like Les. As the “Father of the Electric Guitar", he was not only one of the world's greatest innovators but a legend who created, inspired and contributed to the success of musicians around the world," said Dave Berryman, President of Gibson Guitar. “I have had the privilege to know and work with Les for many, many years and his passing has left a deep personal void. He was simply put – remarkable in every way. As a person, a musician, a friend, an inventor. He will be sorely missed by us all."

With the rise of the rock 'n' roll revolution of 1955, Les Paul and Mary Ford's popularity began to wane with younger listeners, though Paul would prove to be a massive influence on younger generation of guitarists. Still, Paul and Ford maintained their iconic presence with their wildly popular television show, which ran from 1953-1960. In 1964, the couple, parents to a son and daughter, divorced. Paul began playing in Japan, and recorded an LP for London Records before poor health forced him to take time off—as much as someone so inspired can take time off.

In the 1977, Paul resurfaced with a Grammy-winning Chet Atkins collaboration, Chester and Lester. Then the ailing guitarist, who'd already suffered arthritis and permanent hearing loss, had a heart attack, followed by bypass surgery.

Ever stubborn, Les recovered, and returned to live performance in the late 1980s. Until recently Les continued to perform two weekly New York shows with the Les Paul Trio, even releasing the 2005 double-Grammy winner Les Paul & Friends: American Made World Played, featuring collaborations with a veritable who's who of the electric guitar, including dozens of illustrious fans like Keith Richards, Buddy Guy, Billy Gibbons, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, and Joe Perry. In 2008, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame paid tribute to Les Paul in a week-long celebration of his life which culminated with a live performance by Les himself.

Les Paul has since become the only individual to share membership into the Grammy Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and the National Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Les is survived by his three sons Lester (Rus) G. Paul, Gene W. Paul and Robert (Bobby) R. Paul, his daughter Colleen Wess, son-in-law Gary Wess, long time friend Arlene Palmer, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A private Funeral service will be held in New York. A service in Waukesha, WI will be announced at a later date. Details will follow and will be announced for all services. Memorial tributes for the public will be announced at a future date. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Les Paul Foundation, 236 West 30th Street, 7th Floor, New York, New York 10001.

Jay-Z's "The Blueprint 3"

"THE BLUEPRINT 3"

I guess Jay-Z is not retired after all. After the American Gangster album.
Here comes "The Blueprint 3"
As you all know. It came out with a BANG!!
Instant classic if I may.

Blueprint 3 is a return of Jay-Z's top notch era. From Kanye producing most of the track.
To the one the hottest single right now. Which is "We Run This Town".
To "History". A track celebrating a recent history that the whole world celebrated.
Obama, becoming the first African-American president of the United States.

One of my favorite line will be the on the first track called "What We Talkin’ About?".
"I don’t run rap no more; I run the map."
If anyone have the right to say the line. It would be Jay-Z.
By far. He is one of the biggest rapper of all time.

Of course. Who wouldn't like "We Run This Town"?
Dope beats, great emcees. And dope hook.
Not to hate or anything. I just wish that they could have gotten a more seasoned veteran to do the hook.
I'm not saying this because of happen between Chris Brown and Rihanna.
Which is Chris Brown is a total idiot for that. Yeah I said it.
DUDE. You can kill a a person, rob a liquor store or mugged someone.
You will still be respected. BUT YOU NEVER HIT A WOMAN!
Anyway, Rihanna did a good job on chorus. But I just felt like she's not the right person for the track.
She's a very talented person. So don't get me wrong. But I just felt like she is too young and too mellow for the topic of the song. You are trying to run the town after all. But all and all. It's a dope track.

My other favorite will be "Empire State Of Mind"
I guess it's a counter or another reference to Nas "New York State Of Mind"
Instead of Nas New York is about nightmare hellscape, Jay-Z's New York is a place of fast streets, sports teams, fulfilled dreams and so on.

I could go over all the track. But I will always end up saying.
"THE BLUEPRINT 3" is an instant classic.
A most have on your collection. Drop your Soulja Boy CD and copped yourself a copy the The Blueprint 3.
It lived up to the hype!!

Adam Michael "DJ A.M" Goldstein... R.I.P..

Adam Michael Goldstein was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a child, his father verbally abused him, which Goldstein called "unbelievably cruel." His father abused drugs and was secretly gay. His father was sent to jail for committing bank fraud and later died from AIDS. Adam began taking drugs, so his mother placed him in a treatment center that specialized in “tough love”.

When Goldstein was 20 years old, he started deejaying, which he'd been obsessed with since seeing Herbie Hancock do the song “Rockit” at the Grammy Awards. During his early 20s, Goldstein also battled a drug addiction, specifically to crack cocaine. At one point, he attempted suicide but was unsuccessful when the gun did not go off. Shortly thereafter, he became sober, began attending AA meetings and dedicated himself to working as a DJ. Goldstein also distanced himself from friends who were still using drugs, which aided in his recovery. "By then, I was booking jobs at every major club and had started to gain a following," he told Glamour magazine. He lost more than 60 pounds and began Deejaying for celebrity parties and night clubs[7] After getting clean, DJ AM was sober for more than 11 years and was held up as a positive example for the recovery process until his death in 2009.

He began dating socialite Nicole Richie in 2003 and announced their engagement in February 2005. However, the couple broke up in late 2006. "The one thing that stands out about Adam is that I can be myself," Richie said after the breakup. After his breakup with Richie, Goldstein dated singer-actress Mandy Moore. He was good friends with Steve Aoki, Cory Kennedy, Samantha Ronson, John Mayer, Paris Hilton, Travis Barker and Kevin Scott.[16]

DJ AM was an avid "sneakerhead" (posting on sneaker enthusiast message board Niketalk.com) who collected athletic shoes, primarily Nikes. His collection of over 600 shoes includes a pair of Nike Air Force 1 shoes that were created specifically for him, with his DJ AM logo appearing on the shoe itself. In a new commercial, he starred alongside Mike Epps and Kobe Bryant sporting the Nike Air Yeezy, the signature shoe for Kanye West.

His Career:

Adam Micheal Goldstein was a member of the rock band Crazy Town, known for their hit "Butterfly". He has also scratched on albums for Papa Roach, Madonna, Will Smith, and Shifty and played concerts with Jay-Z. He has played private events for celebrities like Jim Carrey, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Stiller, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, and Kate Hudson. He had a one-year contract with Las Vegas' Pure Nightclub inside Caesar's Palace to play at the venue every Friday and to open a nightclub at Caesars Atlantic City called Dusk.

He had recently collaborated with Travis Barker of Blink-182 and +44 in several performances, including the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. On December 1, 2008, TV Guide reported that DJ AM would make his first appearance with Travis Barker since the two survived the plane crash. The duo performed at New Year's Nation's Los Angeles 2008 New Year's Eve Party at The Wiltern. Their performance was streamed live on the Internet via New Year's Nation's official site, and was broadcast at other New Year's Nation parties across the U.S. Before the gig Barker told press, "I'm ready to get back onstage with AM and continue to rock the house. I'm very excited to bring in the New Year in my hometown of L.A."

His reality television appearances include Punk'd, where his former fiancée, Nicole Richie, was the subject of a practical joke, and the third season of The Simple Life. Goldstein appears as himself in the "What About Bob?" episode of Entourage's third season; he gets the last pair of an exclusive line of shoes, right before Vince (Adrian Grenier) and Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) arrive. He had recently finished filming a reality show for MTV, called Gone Too Far, in which he and concerned families staged interventions for drug abusers.

He was also a co-owner of the popular club LAX. In 2009, DJ AM became Rain Nightclub's regular Friday night DJ at the Palms Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. He currently had a record deal with Interscope. Most recently, DJ AM had partnered with Travis Barker (Blink 182) to perform a live DJing/drumming set. TRVSDJAM performed about once a month at sponsored events, clubs and concerts. Their act involved mixing live drum beats to scratched records, as they performed side by side.

DJ AM has evolved into a prominent brand. He was a partner in a DJing company, as well as the music director for the website doppelganger.com. T-Mobile/sidekick also created a limited edition sidekick featuring him and the artwork of tattoo artist Mr. Cartoon.

The Plane Crash

On September 19, 2008, after having performed at a college event with frequent collaborator Travis Barker, Goldstein was seriously injured when a Learjet in which he was traveling crashed on takeoff in West Columbia, South Carolina. The crash killed both crew members and two other passengers, and critically injured Goldstein and Barker. They were both transported to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, and were both listed in critical condition. According to reports, Goldstein suffered burns on his hands and part of his head. His ex-girlfriend, singer Mandy Moore, with whom he was still close, flew to be by his side at the Georgia hospital where he was staying. Goldstein was released from the hospital on September 26, 2008, a spokeswoman told AP.

In December 2008, Goldstein filed a civil lawsuit against the plane's charter company, Learjet and Goodyear tires; the suit claims negligence on the part of the pilots and a manufacturing defect on the part of the plane. Goldstein was asking for damages for pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement and loss of earnings. Goldstein was the last passenger to file a civil suit; the estates of deceased passengers Chris Baker and Charles Still had already filed suits, as had crash survivor Travis Barker.

"I have a great deal of faith that everything happens for a reason. I put myself in God's hands," Goldstein told People magazine in October 2008.

His Death:

Adam Goldstein was found dead at his New York City apartment at around 5:20 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2009, after friends, unable to reach Goldstein for a few days, became concerned and called police. When the police arrived accompanied by paramedics, they broke into the apartment and found Goldstein's body on his bed with a half empty bag of crack cocaine under him. He was 36 years old.

Sources have speculated that the cause of death may have been a result of a drug overdose, other sources speculate that it was a suicide. Drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment, but no signs of foul play. Reports indicate that Goldstein was found with nine OxyContin pills in his body. A rep for Goldstein released a statement: "Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein was found deceased this afternoon in his New York City apartment. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time."

Goldstein had been prescribed medication for pain and post traumatic stress after surviving the Learjet crash with friend and fellow musician Travis Barker in September 2008. "He struggled with pain after the crash," a close friend of Goldstein told E! News Friday. "But it seemed like he was functioning fine and never missed work." Recent reports do confirm that AM had 8 undigested OxyContin pills in his stomach and 1 in his mouth at the time he was found dead in his apartment. Travis Barker tweeted about the loss of his good friend saying, "I'll never forget everything we've been through and everytime I play the drums I'll think of you. You were an amazing friend/DJ/human being." Barker's band, Blink-182, held an onstage vigil for DJ AM on Saturday night, and cancelled their performance the coming Monday.

Radio personality and addiction specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky, who was a friend of Goldstein, said on his August 30, 2009, Loveline show that he was extremely shocked and saddened to learn of his relapse and death. Dr. Drew described Goldstein's sobriety as "solid", and was a "great inspiration" for those seeking addiction treatment. He then went on to endorse the argument that Goldstein did not receive proper treatment for his recent PTSD diagnosis.

After a memorial mass, Goldstein was interred at Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles on September 2, 2009. A day after DJ AM was laid to rest, the celebrity deejay was remembered Thursday September 3, 2009, by hundreds of invited guests and a handful of fans who attended the memorial at the Hollywood Palladium. Mourners included former fiancée Nicole Richie and friends Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, Eric Dane, Rebecca Gayheart and Robert Downey Jr. E! Online reported that the VIPs also included Dr. Drew Pinsky, Tom Arnold, Jon Favreau, Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath, and John Mayer. The event was organized by Hollywood club promoter Brent Bolthouse.

"THIS IS WHERE WE STAND"

"THIS IS WHERE WE STAND"

I’ve been asked so many times. Why do this mixtape? WHY? because no one would.

The art of turntablism is beginning to be extinct. Nowadays, specially in the Philippines and the younger hip-hop generation in general. The fist thing that will come to their mind when you say the word mixtape. Is emcees rapping over other producers beat or just a bunch of emcees on one album. Don’t get me wrong. I respect those emcees for their talent, skills & dedication.

I created this mixtape for two reasons.
One: I want to make a mixtape using an what I would say "A Forgotten Art-form" Why forgotten? Because hardly any DJ do this anymore. And like I said, in my opinion. Younger generation of emcees don’t even know this turntablist mixtape art-form existed.

I’m talking about DJ/turntablist mixtape using a tracks of other artist both exclusive & album tracks. Mixing it, remixing, beat juggling, scratching and of course; just plain blending of records or tracks.

Two: I want to make a mixtape dedicated to Filipino artist around the globe. Why?Because in my opinion. Filipino Hip-Hop artist or Filipino artist in general are one of the most underrated artist in music business.
I always say that we don’t have a place in the music business here in the U.S. We’ll never be famous.
And I still believe that. And keeping that in mind is the reason why I wanted to make a mixtape and hopefully become a trademark mixtape representing Filipino artist. Representing their hard work and dedication to their art while adding and utilizing my skills to make good mixtape or project.

I was told that this mixtape has been done. But I would say no. Why? Because most DJ/turntablist nowadays.
Or Filipino DJ at least when they do a mixtape. They make beats and produce tracks for artist and put it in one album or mixtape.

And even if I’m not the first DJ/turntalbist that does this. It’s OK. All I know is that I want to be the first Filipino turntablist to really make this public. I want local Filipino artist to heard on other cities or countries.
And I’ll do anything make it happen. Anything is possible. I want the dream of Filipino artist to be heard.
And if this mixtape is what it takes to do so. Then I’ll keep doing it. I do this for the love of what I do and for the much deserved respect of all Filipino artist around the globe.

I was often asked. Why Hip-Hop? And I say why not?
I like every genre of music. I just love music in general. But the reason why a chose Hip-Hop. Is because it’s a lifestyle that brings artist and hip-hop fans together. Hip-hop represent unity, love and of course family.
It makes you proud of who you are. I mean, if you go to the Philippines. How many percent of the Philippine population do see who’s proud of being a Filipino? It said to say that it is way less. And you all know I’m right.
I came back in the Philippines rockin’ a New Era Three Stars and Sun cap and a Andres Bonifacio shirt. I went to the mall and people are looking at me weird. I bought a Philippine Flag to put in my room. But my neighbors start to make fun of me. But my neighbors back home start to make fun of me. For what? Because I’m proud of I am? Like I said, hardly any Filipino are proud anymore.

And that’s the reason why I chose Hip-Hop. Because it’s the only lifestyle that will make you proud of who you are.
It’s the only lifestyle that represent who you are. As person, as an artist and as a Filipino.

Unfortunately, back home. Corporate is messing it up. They rather have their pretty lil’ actress and actors performing on TV shows rapping "In The Club" or singing "Umbrella" or "Crazy In Love" and dancing to remixed tracks that they don’t even give recognition to the artist or the DJ that remixed the song. They’re rapping and dancing while wearing a tight pants and a tight shirt. They make them say YO!! and corporate think it’s Hip-Hop. And in my personal opinion. It’s a disrespect.

They don’t want to hire real Hip-Hop artist. Because they’re afraid of the real Hip-Hop. They want something that sells rather than booking something that comes from hard work, real skills and of course; from the heart. It’s all about the money for them.

Philippines is a third world country. But corporate and entertainment industry is making it seems like it’s not.
That’s a good thing. But the only problem is. The rich is getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.

That’s "CORPORATE TERRORISM" if you ask me.

Artist sells albums but the all profit goes to the company. The CEO get richer and the artist is still broke.
Why do you think most of the best artist in the Philippines chose to promote their music independently?
Because for most companies. It’s too real. They can’t take the heat.

Philippine All-Star won the biggest dance competition this world. But they went back to the Philippines. They didn’t get any recognition. Why? Is it because it wasn’t as famous as American Idol?

Filipino Hip-Hop community have to make their own award because Corporate wouldn’t give them recognition they deserved.

And then corporate rather sells NOVELTY rap album rather than real hip-hop artist. Com’on, even that Marc Logan; that dude from Balitang Kyut starts rapping. WHAT WAS THAT?

I created this mixtape because I want to do my part to help out with the culture. In my own lil’ way.
I want the people to hear real Filipino Hip-Hop. Wouldn’t you wanna hear "Free Speech" from the Nomadik Messengers, Nimbusnine’s "N.Y To P.I", God’s Will’s "Himig Ng Buhay" or D-Coy’s "Wika" and "Sana" rather than "The Amir of Rap" and "Boracay Baby"?

If you got DISSED by another artist. YOU DON’T SUE THEM! you dissed them back. That’s how it work. That just show that there’s a lot of posers in the Philippines who know nothing about Hip-Hop.
They wanna do it because it’s the new trend or in tagalog "USO".

This mixtape might not be big. But I know some will appreciate. Even if it’s only 1% of the population on earth.
I’m making my stand. And I know someone will follow. I’m not doing this for the money, I’m doing it for the love.
And yet, I know corporate will not listen. But like I said, I know someone will follow my footsteps.

This is just the beginning.
This is where we start.
This is where we pursuit out dream.

THIS IS WHERE WE STAND!!!

"BETTER ON THE OTHER SIDE" The Game tribute to Michael Jackson

Less than 24 hours after the death of Michael Jackson, a song in his honor was recorded by an all-star lineup led by The Game and had made its world premiere on a radio station in Los Angeles.
After learning of MJ's passing Thursday night, Game got some of his famous friends ? including Diddy, Chris Brown, Polow Da Don, Mario Winans, Usher and Boyz II Men ? to help record a song giving thanks and reflecting on the King of Pop.

Titled "Better on the Other Side," the DJ Khalil-produced tribute debuted on the morning radio show "Big Boy's Neighborhood" on LA's Power 106, as well as on Game affiliate DJ Skee's satellite radio show, "Skeetox."

Skee told MTV News that the recording took place shortly after he called Game in the studio to tell him about Jackson's death. "Game was in the studio with Diddy at the time I called. He reached out to Chris Brown and Usher and also got Boyz II Men, who so happened to be recording in the same studio."

Here's how MTV.com describes the track:

The piano-accompanied soundscape starts off with Diddy testifying about M.J.'s influence. "I believed I can do anything," he says. "You made the world dance. You made the music come to life."

Then a thunderous bass drops in, led by Chris Brown's vocals on the chorus: "This the type of song that makes the angels cry/ Look up in the sky and I wonder why/ Why you had to go, go/ I know it's better on the other side."
On his verses Game reflects on the pop singer's influence on him growing up. "Who's Michael Jackson?/ You're Michael Jackson/ I'm Michael Jackson/ We all Michael Jackson/ I guess what I'm asking is/ Everybody bow their head/ For a legend, don't breathe for a second."

The Game continues with his heartfelt tribute and compares himself to Jackson. "Imma tell you my story/ Never had a family that close/ Never seen Berry Gordy walking through Interscope/ But just like me, they always had Mike in a scope/ No matter what you say imma love him and he's still dope/ Let me take you back to '85 when I was in a zone/ Dancing for my momma, 'Thriller' jacket with the zippers on."

"Other Side" concludes with one last statement from Diddy: "People can say what they want about you. We gonna remember the miracles that you showed us. Through your music, through your dance. You were the one that made us realize that you are the world. Through us your legacy lives on, Mike Jackson."

Also on Friday, Game's former rap rival 50 Cent released two songs that give a nod to Michael Jackson.

"Where You Are," which takes its track directly from Jackson's 1972 hit "I Wanna Be Where You Are," features the lyrics:

"They say I ain't lyrical, they say I ain't a miracle/ I say some hard sh--, so they say I ain't spiritual ?They act like they know God better than me/ I know 'God Allah,' he used to pump crack up the streets."

He goes on to vent about those in the 'hood doubting him because of his over-the-top financial status. The Southside, Queens, native then gives way to the King of Pop, and we hear Jackson's timeless vocals.

"Can it be I stayed away too long?/ Did I leave your mind when I was gone?/ It's not my thing trying to get back/ But this time let me tell you where I'm at/ You don't have to worry 'cause I'm coming/ Back to where I should have always stayed/ And now I've heard the maybe to your story/ And it's enough love for me to stay."

The rapper mentions Jackson's passing at the end of his second track released Friday morning, titled "Respect It or Check It N***a."

"Rest in peace to Michael Jackson," 50 raps. "You n***as need me, man. I might have to start moonwalking. A couple of dance moves and sh**, might be some sh** called 'Billie Jean Is My Lover.' I'm back, n***a!"

Former Philippine President Corazon Aquino Died August 1, 2009 at the age of 76

Former President Corazon Aquino, who swept away a dictator with a "people power" revolt and then sustained democracy by fighting off seven coup attempts in six years, died on Saturday, her son said. She was 76.

The uprising she led in 1986 ended the repressive 20-year regime of Ferdinand Marcos and inspired nonviolent protests across the globe, including those that ended Communist rule in eastern Europe.

But she struggled in office to meet high public expectations. Her land redistribution program fell short of ending economic domination by the landed elite, including her own family. Her leadership, especially in social and economic reform, was often indecisive, leaving many of her closest allies disillusioned by the end of her term.

Still, the bespectacled, smiling woman in her trademark yellow dress remained beloved in the Philippines, where she was affectionately referred to as "Tita (Auntie) Cory."

Her son, Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, said his mother died at 3:18 a.m. Saturday (1918 GMT Friday).

Aquino was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer last year and confined to a Manila hospital for more than a month. Her son said the cancer had spread to other organs and she was too weak to continue her chemotherapy.

Supporters have been holding daily prayers for Aquino in churches in Manila and throughout the country for a month. Masses were scheduled for later Saturday, and yellow ribbons were tied on trees around her neighborhood in Quezon city.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, who is on an official visit to the United States, said in a statement that "the entire nation is mourning" Aquino's demise. Arroyo declared a period of national mourning and announced a state funeral would be held for the late president.

TV stations on Saturday were running footage of Aquino's years together with prayers while her former aides and supporters offered condolences.

Even the exiled Communist Party founder Jose Maria Sison, whom Aquino freed from jail in 1986, paid tribute from the Netherlands.

Aquino's unlikely rise began in 1983 when her husband, opposition leader Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., was assassinated on the tarmac of Manila's international airport as he returned from exile in the United States to challenge Marcos, his longtime adversary.

The killing enraged many Filipinos and unleashed a broad-based opposition movement that thrust Aquino into the role of national leader.

"I don't know anything about the presidency," she declared in 1985, a year before she agreed to run against Marcos, uniting the fractious opposition, the business community, and later the armed forces to drive the dictator out.

Maria Corazon Cojuangco was born on Jan. 25, 1933, into a wealthy, politically powerful family in Paniqui, about 75 miles (120 kilometers) north of Manila.

She attended private school in Manila and earned a degree in French from the College of Mount St. Vincent in New York. In 1954 she married Ninoy Aquino, the fiercely ambitious scion of another political family. He rose from provincial governor to senator and finally opposition leader.

Marcos, elected president in 1965, declared martial law in 1972 to avoid term limits. He abolished the Congress and jailed Aquino's husband and thousands of opponents, journalists and activists without charges. Aquino became her husband's political stand-in, confidant, message carrier and spokeswoman.

A military tribunal sentenced her husband to death for alleged links to communist rebels but, under pressure from U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Marcos allowed him to leave in May 1980 for heart surgery in the U.S.

It was the start of a three-year exile. With her husband at Harvard University holding court with fellow exiles, academics, journalists and visitors from Manila, Aquino was the quiet homemaker, raising their five children and serving tea. Away from the hurly-burly of Philippine politics, she described the period as the best of their marriage.

The halcyon days ended when her husband decided to return to regroup the opposition. While she and the children remained in Boston, he flew to Manila, where he was shot as he descended the stairs from the plane.

The government blamed a suspected communist rebel, but subsequent investigations pointed to a soldier who was escorting him from the plane on Aug. 21, 1983.

Aquino heard of the assassination in a phone call from a Japanese journalist. She recalled gathering the children and, as a deeply religious woman, praying for strength.

"During Ninoy's incarceration and before my presidency, I used to ask why it had always to be us to make the sacrifice," she said in a 2007 interview with The Philippine Star newspaper. "And then, when Ninoy died, I would say, 'Why does it have to be me now?' It seemed like we were always the sacrificial lamb."

She returned to the Philippines three days later. One week after that, she led the largest funeral procession Manila had seen. Crowd estimates ranged as high as 2 million.

With public opposition mounting against Marcos, he stunned the nation in November 1985 by calling a snap election in a bid to shore up his mandate. The opposition, including then Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jaime L. Sin, urged Aquino to run.

After a fierce campaign, the vote was held on Feb. 7, 1986. The National Assembly declared Marcos the winner, but journalists, foreign observers and church leaders alleged massive fraud.

With the result in dispute, a group of military officers mutinied against Marcos on Feb. 22 and holed up with a small force in a military camp in Manila.

Over the following three days, hundreds of thousands of Filipinos responded to a call by the Roman Catholic Church to jam the broad highway in front of the camp to prevent an attack by Marcos forces.

On the third day, against the advice of her security detail, Aquino appeared at the rally alongside the mutineers, led by Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile and Lt. Gen. Fidel Ramos, the military vice chief of staff and Marcos' cousin.

From a makeshift platform, she declared: "For the first time in the history of the world, a civilian population has been called to defend the military."

The military chiefs pledged their loyalty to Aquino and charged that Marcos had won the election by fraud.

U.S. President Ronald Reagan, a longtime supporter of Marcos, called on him to resign. "Attempts to prolong the life of the present regime by violence are futile," the White House said. American officials offered to fly Marcos out of the Philippines.

On Feb. 25, Marcos and his family went to the U.S.-run Clark Air Base outside Manila and flew to Hawaii, where he died three years later.

The same day, Aquino was sworn in as the Philippines' first female leader.

Over time, the euphoria fizzled as the public became impatient and Aquino more defensive as she struggled to navigate treacherous political waters and build alliances to push her agenda.

"People used to compare me to the ideal president, but he doesn't exist and never existed. He has never lived," she said in the 2007 Philippine Star interview.

The right attacked her for making overtures to communist rebels and the left, for protecting the interests of wealthy landowners.

Aquino signed an agrarian reform bill that virtually exempted large plantations like her family's sugar plantation from being distributed to landless farmers.

When farmers protested outside the Malacanang Presidential Palace on Jan. 22, 1987, troops opened fire, killing 13 and wounding 100.

The bloodshed scuttled talks with communist rebels, who had galvanized opposition to Marcos but weren't satisfied with Aquino either.

As recently as 2004, at least seven workers were killed in clashes with police and soldiers at the family's plantation, Hacienda Luisita, over its refusal to distribute its land.

Aquino also attempted to negotiate with Muslim separatists in the southern Philippines, but made little progress.

Behind the public image of the frail, vulnerable widow, Aquino was an iron-willed woman who dismissed criticism as the carping of jealous rivals. She knew she had to act tough to earn respect in the Philippines' macho culture.

"When I am just with a few close friends, I tell them, 'OK, you don't like me? Look at the alternatives,' and that shuts them up," she told America's NBC television in a 1987 interview.

Her term was punctuated by repeated coup attempts — most staged by the same clique of officers who had risen up against Marcos and felt they had been denied their fair share of power. The most serious attempt came in December 1989 when only a flyover by U.S. jets prevented mutinous troops from toppling her.

Leery of damaging relations with the United States, Aquino tried in vain to block a historic Senate vote to force the U.S. out of its two major bases in the Philippines.

In the end, the U.S. Air Force pulled out of Clark Air Base in 1991 after the eruption of Mount Pinatubo forced its evacuation and left it heavily damaged. The last American vessel left Subic Bay Naval Base in November 1992.

After stepping down in 1992, Aquino remained active in social and political causes.

Until diagnosed with colon cancer in March 2008, she joined rallies calling for the resignation of President Arroyo over allegations of vote-rigging and corruption.

She kept her distance from another famous widow, flamboyant former first lady Imelda Marcos, who was allowed to return to the Philippines in 1991.

Marcos has called Aquino a usurper and dictator, though she later led prayers for Aquino in July 2009 when the latter was hospitalized. The two never made peace.

This is her legacy.....
